Zeke is an entrepreneur.

After 6 or 6.5 hours of sleep, which never felt like enough, Zeke’s alarm went off at 5:30 each morning.

His first move was to take his iPhone off his night table, and check his email.

He told himself he did this in case something urgent had come in over night, but the truth was, he just couldn’t resist.

Zeke tried to get to the gym at least 2 times a week but he travelled frequently, and at home he was often too tired to work out.

Once he got to work around 7:30, Zeke grabbed a cup of coffee, sat down at his desk, and checked his email again.

By then 25 or more new messages were sitting in his inbox. If he didn’t have an early meeting/call he might be online for an hour or more without once looking up.

Zeke’s days were mostly about meetings or phone calls.

They’re usually scheduled one after the other with no time in between. As a result he would race off to the next meeting without digesting what he had just taken in in the last one.

Lunch was something Zeke squeezed in. He usually brought his lunch to his desk and worked while he ate, sometimes from the cafeteria or something from the health food store or a paleo bar. Around 2 or 3 he began to get tired, but instead of a short nap, he opted to take stimulants, another cup of coffee, some kind of nootropic stack or pills. He found it difficult at the end of the day to leave work be with so much unfinished business.

And by the time he finally did, usually around 730 or 8 pm he was pretty much running on empty. After dinner at home he would try and finish the work he had put off in the rest of the day. Most of the time he found himself returning to email or playing games online or Netflix binging. He stayed up later than he knew he should.

His relationship is really strained. His girlfriend / wife and he are like ships passing in the night. If there are kids, it’s just mounting pressure for both of them. Se doesn’t feel like he is putting in enough effort, he is feeling all the pressure that they don’t have time to take care of the kids AND take care of the pressure because they can barely take care of the pressure.
